Conquista da Ilha do Pico - Teambuilding
Born 47 years ago, he was a victim of a car accident at the age of 4, which left him with impairment on the right side of his body.
He completed high school and has some professional experience in the administrative field of accounting. He joined Associação Salvador in mid-June 2019 when he accompanied a friend who was going to register for our employment project. Since he was also unemployed, he accepted our challenge and joined us in the active job search. Cheerful, good-natured, responsible, and committed. He is one of the regular participants in events promoted by Associação Salvador, always showing willingness to be with us.
For José Teixeira, the sky is the limit, and reaching the summit of Pico Island is an achievement within everyone’s reach.

THE OBJECTIVE

To support the inclusion of people with motor disabilities. The donations received will be channeled to Associação Salvador, aiming to create better living conditions for people with some type of reduced mobility or motor disability.

In Portugal, there are more than 1 million people with reduced mobility or motor disabilities. Every day they face numerous obstacles, from using public transport to entering the job market. At Associação Salvador, in these 20 years of existence, we have already helped hundreds of people in various areas: sports, employment, education, and home adaptation.

Make your donation today and join our mission to improve the quality of life of people with physical disabilities.

TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE LIVES!

“Whenever I encounter someone with a motor disability, I ask myself, ‘What if it were me? How would I react? How would I face the mental and physical obstacles that the disability would present to me? Would I have the courage?’

I have always admired the courage of people with motor disabilities. I admire their incredible display of strength, determination, and resilience. These are people who face physical, emotional, and social challenges that require a lot of courage and resilience to move forward and achieve their goals. In their courage, they provide a valuable lesson about the importance of perseverance, self-confidence, and self-acceptance. Their stories of struggle and overcoming remind us that true courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to face it and move forward, even when difficulties seem insurmountable.

The work of Associação Salvador, which we proudly support and recognize, has been fundamental in recognizing and valuing the courage of people with motor disabilities and raising awareness in society about the importance of equality and diversity. When we, as individuals, leaders, and institutions, actively commit to inclusion, we are not only promoting social justice but also inspiring others to do the same. We are contributing to the building of a more just, equal, and welcoming society.”

“With the support provided by Associação Salvador, I have regained my joy and will to live. I will be completely autonomous and independent as I was before my accident. I will be able to live a so-called normal life like any other young person of my age and that makes me very happy. Thank you for your trust. I will continue to fight to be an example to follow and exceed expectations. Thank you very much Associação Salvador!”
